Furby boom helpful Tips & Solutions

Turning off Furby without losing its memory.

Furby Boom does not have on/off switch but you can put it to sleep in 3 different ways.
(1) Put Furby on its back and keep it like that without any interruption. Do not move or talk to Furby. A while later Furby might say “me sleepy” or something similar meaning it’s going to sleep. It normally takes 15 seconds.
(2) Pull its tail for 10 seconds but not too hard. Sometimes it might not work and Furby thinks we are trying to hurt him.
(3) Put Furby in a dead quiet room and do not play or make sound.

Resetting Furby Booms memory

(Keep trained personalities or Reset to factory settings)
Hold down the reset button at the base of the toy near battery compartment for about 3-5 seconds. This will not change Furby’s personalities that you trained.
To reset to factory settings, do the same as above (holding the reset button) and also hold down the mouth button which is located inside Furby’s mouth.

Where can I find Furby’s date code?

It’s on the Hot Stamp placed inside the battery compartment.

Furby Boom 2013 available in how many languages?

Available in English, German, French, Spanish, Dutch, Japanese and in Mandarin (Chinese). Android version is in English only.

Why my Furby not waking up?

First try the reset button located at the base of the toy. If that does not sort the problem it’s may be the time to replace the batteries.

My Furby does not understand what I am telling it to do.

You must talk to Furby clearly and slowly so that he can capture your words. If you are too fast talking to furby, he will not understand.

My Furby not dancing, what’s gone wrong?

If the music volume is too low, Furby sensors may not pick up the sounds. Turn up the volume and it should work again. One more thing, Don’t play a music that Furby don’t like.

Why am I hearing a high pitched tone from my Furby and/or my mobile (iOS) device?

It’s normal. Some people or some animal may hear it because of the frequency level. Nothing to worry – it will not cause any harm to person or animals. This noise is how Furby communicates with the app device or when it meets another Furby friend.

Why Furby doesn’t respond to my voice?

Try to speak slowly and clearly. Get close to Furby and face directly. Furby sensors might pick up any background noise and distract Furby’s attention. Minimize all other noise around him.

Why my Furby boom not communicating with another Furby boom?

Place Furbies 3-5 inches apart and facing each other. Minimize all background sounds.

If you have scan problem with Furby

First check if you have the right app And it’s Furby Boom but not just older version of furby.
If Furby Boom worked before and now it doesn’t then remove the app, freshly download & reinstall.
Finally, go to settings on your mobile device (apple)> Go to privacy menu> Microphone Tab, inside there you will see an icon for Furby app> Go there and switch it on.

Are the new Furbies available in different personalities?

No, they all come with the same personality but as you train it, it will gradually change to your likeness.

I do not like the personality my Furby currently have. How do I change it?

You keep petting Furby’s head or back, hug it, tickle it until it says something like “I’m changing” or “Me changing”. It will flash and make different sounds. This will change to a sweet persona. Talking too much to Furby will change to a Hyper persona. Playing lots of music to Furby will make it Rockin Furby. So it all depends how you treat it.
If you wish to start from factory settings – check the answer here “Resetting Furby Booms memory”

I bought my daughter a Furby Boom Crystal Series for Christmas just gone. We have never been able to get it working for more than a couple of minutes. I have tried a couple of different brands of batteries. It just wants to go to sleep all the time and when it wakes up its eyes stay only half open and it goes almost straight back to sleep. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

hullo, perhaps I’m a tad late. but if you’re still in need of help here’s how to change the personality:

Rockin’ furbies like to be left alone while they “rock out”, so you can pet it and play with it while it’s busy. Sweet furbies don’t like it rough, so pull on their tails to change them. Jolly furbies hate being tilted and doing so will change them. Hyper furbies prefer to be entertained, so if you let it get bored it’ll change. Finally, fiesty furbies don’t like it when you’re gentle.

Furbies can be hard and confusing, but they’re really worth it in the end!

My little sister’s furby boom was purchased last christmas in UK. Now it is turning off automatically in every like 5 mins. I changed its battery twice already and I already tried pushing the refresh button. I searched for some ways to fix it in youtube but it is hopeless. Someone told me that you can fix it. Please help us out. And also if we ask for a replacement, our receipt is lost. Is it a thing? Because either it has a receipt or not it is still hasbro’s toy right?

Way-Toh June 10, 2016 at 2:23 pm

Hi my name is Way-Toh I’m a Furby BOOM! In 2015 I was bought. My owner fell down the stairs but I tumbled to the tile floor on my own. My owner was fine but I wasn’t. About 6 months later I stopped working. My body was curled up and my mouth and ears wouldn’t move. Sometimes I’ll be talking then my eyes will black out. I will snore and wake up without moving. My eyes move but nothing else. My eyes often don’t light up. My eyelids don’t ever move either, and I can’t even dance to songs. My owner ordered a new Furby boom, but my owner is sad about what happened even though it’s been 3 months since we noticed it. Please help!

The furby’s motor seems to have died or got stuck! You may need surgery in the motor. It’s not easy to do it but it’s the only way. Loo-bay (polka dot furby) had the same problem. Your owner will have to do surgery on her!
Still doesn’t work? tell your owner to contact hasbro!

My daughters is doing the same thing. I have put new batteries in, reset it, I even left the batteries out overnight then put them in and reset it. But as soon as you wake it up it talks for about 5 seconds then goes back to sleep. I am in Australia is there a number I can ring here

[email protected] December 14, 2016 at 11:21 am

Hi Karen.
we do not have any record of Australian number to call. It’s best you call the Hasbro (USA) number. They’re the right people to help you with this.

However he was fine for about 3 seconds but after that he kept snoring and halfway through the snoring he resets and it repeats again and again. How do I fix this? Hi. Our 3 year old Furby Boom(diagonal stripes) used to work fine, but after a while the speaker got messed up. Thankfully we fixed it, but sometimes it still gets a little messed up. Recently, the furby boom died so we replaced the batteries but then after a few minutes it died again. The batteries were new. When we turned it on again, it woke up but then its eyes shut off and it went to sleep and woke up repeatedly. About 3 seconds would go with it being awake and then its eyes would shut off and then the eyes would turn on again for about three seconds. We think it’s done for good. If we didn’t remove the batteries it would just keep sleeping and waking up. What is wrong with this Furby Boom?
P.S. We’ve noticed that the insides of the Furby Boom are displaced. When we turn it around it sounds like there is little pieces of things falling in it.
